Saving The View

We discussed how to make the changes to your views—which is really good—but do you find you're making a lot of changes all the time?

Are you looking for a way to save a few of these View set-ups so you can quickly switch back and forth as needed?

If you're thinking that it's a good idea then I have to agree.

And... I'd bet you're ready to find out how - so let's get started.

If you're using Outlook 97 then you need to locate the Current View field list on the Standard toolbar.

If you're using a newer version of Outlook then you'll need to open the Advanced toolbar. You can find it through the View menu, Toolbar submenu, Advanced choice.

When the new toolbar opens you'll see the same Current View field list as shown above.

Already in the window you'll find a lot of different pre-defined views... but that's not what we're here for. We want it all our way!

So, here's what you do.

First—make the changes to the view that you need.

Now, click on the name in the Current View field and type in a different name for your newly created view.

Hit the Enter key.

A window will open where you can still make adjustments to the view name and decide where the view should apply.

Make your decisions and click OK.

Voila!

The new view is added to the Current View field list and you can choose it any time you'd like.

No repetitious work of changing views back and forth field by field. Save all the important views and always have it your way!
