Every once in awhile I come across a
tip that turns out to be far cooler than I thought it was going to
be. Today's tip is a great example of that. If your eyesight isn't
quite what it used to be, then here's a trick I'd like you to try.
It's called “High
Contrast” mode.
How do we do this, then?
Press: Left Shift+Left
Alt+Print Screen
Got that? A window will pop up,
asking you if you'd like to turn this mode on. Go ahead and click
“Yes”. Your desktop will undergo a
magical transformation. Text will turn white, the background will
turn black and you may see things a little clearer than you used
to.

If you don't like it, just repeat
the key combination and everything will go back to normal. This tip
applies to both XP and Vista.
Give it a try!

#1 : Be Careful!

- Yes, this tip works fine, but be very careful doing this! If you change the High Contract and then go back to the original setup you will find a few setups go back to the default system. For example, do the High Contract and then go back to original and if you had changed your scroller to be wider it's not anymore: now it's the default, and there are a few others like that.
So, go ahead and "give it a try!" but don't assume your original setup will just go back the same way.

- I agree with Tom Phillips, this tip does work fine, but some of your settings may change and you'll have to reset them manually. My text boxes underneath my icons on my desktop all changed color and I had to reset them. Just keep in mind things might change a little if you try this tip. Written By: scanrat
