We’ve talked before about shortening URL’s to make the easier to link, and send. But have you ever wondered about the reverse? Where exactly are those short URL’s sending you? Well now you can find out! With Long URL Please you’ll be able to reveal the URL behind the shortened version.
There are two ways to use it. If you use Firefox, you can just install the Firefox extension. Clicking the link to install it will take you directly to its page in the Add-ons for Firefox directory. Click the green Add to Firefox button, and it will install it. Super easy!
If you’re not using Firefox, and have a different browser (except IE 8 – it didn’t work for me there) just drag the Long URL Please box up to your bookmarks bar. It is a java application that does the same thing as the Firefox extension.
You’ll no longer have to wonder what’s hiding behind that shortened link! Pretty cool, right?
