In addition to
popular browsing software like Internet Explorer and Mozilla
Firefox, Opera has its own loyal users worldwide and has proven to
be an efficient tool for surfing the net, browsing pages online and
taking a deeper look into cyber-space. The latest release of the
program which is version 10 arrived recently and you might want to
check it out.
To download the latest release of the software or upgrade your
existing application, please visit http://www.opera.com/download/
After visiting the link above, simply begin downloading
the Opera software to your hard drive. Then double-click on the
file and select from among two options of either installing a fresh
copy of the program or upgrading if you're already an Opera
user.
The latest version of Opera browser has a sleek design, accompanied
by lots of features and many tools to explore. It loads and runs
faster than previous versions of the software and could be an
excellent option for the folks using slow Internet connections. The
standard features like tabbed browsing, or drag-and-drop
functionalities have remained the same as before.
The recent innovative feature presented in the Opera 10 is the
introduction of optional thumbnails for the tabs opened. This
feature is really excellent because you can constantly have some
thumbnails displayed as visual styles or presentations of the web
pages at the top of your web browser without moving your mouse
pointer over the links.
Assume for instance that while browsing the web you have opened
some tabs and then when you point your mouse tip over one of the
tabs, a small pop-up window would load displaying the thumbnail
view of that website.
Now, the better news is that when you drag the bottom of the tab
bar downwards, Opera will display a dynamically created and fixed
set of the opened websites and the tabbed pages.
The search bar defaults to the Google search engine and you can
find it conveniently on the top right corner of the software and by
clicking on the drop down menu. You can choose other portals as
well.
In order to add more options and search engines to the list, simply
click Tools from the top menu and then choose Preferences, you can
also alternatively use the keyboard shortcut F12 for this purpose
and then from the Preferences panel hit the Search tab which
manages the search engines.
By pressing the Add button, a small window will load allowing you
to add extra search engines to Opera. It's as simple as entering
the names and web addresses of the search portals and then saving
the job. Selection of your favorite search engine is also to
accomplished via this panel.
Opera has proven to be an innovative web browser and has
successfully passed a battery of tests over the net. With version
10, it will be known as a very fast application among the
developers and web surfers alike. If you haven’t tried it
yet, perhaps this is the right time!
