If you're using
Word 2007 then you've undoubtedly noticed the changes
to, among other things, default line spacing at 1.15, and extra
line after paragraphs and the change in the default font.
Some of you may like all this and
some of you may not.
For those of you who long for the
defaults of days gone by but don't want all the hassle of setting
them individually I have good news for you!
Here's the quick way to put back all
those basic formats that you miss the most.
What we're going to do is to change
styles and to do that we start on the Home tab of the
Ribbon.
In
the Styles section you need to click the Change Styles
button.
From the options listed choose
Style Set. This will change the default setting for spacing,
headings, etc.
From the list choose Word
2003.
Now go back to the Change Styles
button and choose Fonts.
Scroll through
the list until you find Office Classic.
If
you want these settings to be defaults then once more go back to
the Change Styles button and choose Set as Default from the
bottom.
Voila!
No
more longing from the past. With this trick Word changed all those
defaults back to the way you remember them making the past your new
present.
