to set standards for computers and communications, has finally
unofficially approved the 802.11n wireless LAN standard. Bruce
Kraemer, the Chairman of the 802.11n Task Group, stated in an
email, sent to task group members, that the 802.11n would become an
approved standard by the IEEE. The Wi-Fi Alliance stated that it
would be updating it's Wi-Fi certification on September 30th in
order to test products that might meet the full standard.

Last week, Twitter, the popular micro-blogging service, changed
it's Terms of Service since the company now knows how it's service
is "being used". Major changes included: leaving the door open for
advertising, allowing Twitter to "use, copy, reproduce, process,
adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display and distribute" tweets
(though the company does state the tweets belong to the user) and
added terms regarding abusive behavior and spam.

After releasing their new operating system, Mac OS X 10.6, on
August 28th, Apple has published the first update, 10.6.1. This
update provides general operating system fixes such as: allowing
compatibility with some Wireless 3G modems, fixing a issue with DVD
playback, correcting printer compatibility problems, and repairing
a bug which prevented users from removing an item from the
Dock.
