No, I’m not talking about the package delivery company. If you need to do some mailing, you might want to try looking up your local UPS’ phone number in the phonebook. The UPS I’m referring to is actually a term that is used with computers quite often as well.
In this case, UPS stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply. It is basically a power supply that provides back up power service in the event of a power outage or a drop in voltage rate. In your situation, you probably mostly use a small and private computer system, so the UPS gives you just enough time to save what you’re working on. You are then also able to shut down your computer the normal way, instead of it being forced off by a storm, etc.
With UPS, you can be protected from losing your work or messing up your computer because of an improper shutdown. You can’t go wrong with that, now can you?!
