Vista Shortcut Manager

Vista Shortcut Manager

Some time ago, Steve wrote a tip about removing the little arrows you see in the corners of all your icons. Those arrows indicate that the file is a shortcut, but that doesn’t make them any less annoying! Now, just in case you’re not quite sure what I’m talking about, here’s a sample picture:

That tip was great and it has helped many people, but it only covered Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP. So, what about Windows Vista? Well, after doing a little research, I found a free program that will help you get rid of your shortcut arrows in Vista!

The program is called Vista Shortcut Manager and it’s so easy to use!

Simply install the program and choose how you’d like your icons to look.

You can download the Vista Shortcut Manager program for 32bit Windows Vista here [1] or if you’re using x64 Vista, you can download it here.

Note: If your system doesn’t specifically say “x64,” you have the 32bit version.

Also, for those of you who are still using Windows XP, you can read Steve’s original tip about shortcut arrows right here. Enjoy!
