I’m now firmly ensconced in Madison, WI, where I’ll be studying Library and Information Science. It’s both fun and nerve wracking to learn a new city, but I’ve been using vPike to get a feel for places around town.
You have a lot of navigation options when you get started. You can put in an address and click local search. Then you can use the tools that load on the map page to explore restaurants, hotels, gas stations, and more around the area. You can also get directions and explore via Street View. I’ve been using this a lot to find cool places near the house to eat, because the neighborhood is full of little places to check out.
You can also use the site to check out Homes of Movie Stars, World Places, US Places, US Land Resources, and US Water Resources. Or you can check out the limited street views available from countries all over the world.
Near the bottom of the page, you’ll find links to a video on YouTube that explains more about vPike, checking if vPike is in your area, and the Wiki for further explanations.
