Wantful – Take The Stress Out Of Gift Shopping

Sometimes gift-giving is stressful and hard. You’re plagued with having to do the shopping (I’m not a huge fan of shopping), the worrying over whether if the recipient will like what you picked out. Wantful is here to tell you it doesn’t have to be that way. They’ve dedicated their site to reinvent the gift giving experience.
The site offers you two options for Navigation: Explore and Create a Gift. If you choose to the Explore option you’ll be directed down the page to the product area. There are five curated collections featured on the main page as well as the option to browse by categories. The categories are Featured, Home, Food & Wine, Outdoors, His, and Hers. Take your time browsing and you’re sure to find somethings that will be perfect.
Or you can Create a Gift. You’ll start by filling out the form that asks what the event is, who it is for, and how much you want to spend. Just click each of the fields to either select an option from the drop-down or type in the blank. Then, you get to go browse items in the range you set. So basically, at Wantful you can set a price range of how much you want to spend starting at $30 and ranging up to $500. I usually spend between $30 and $50 on my family members for their birthday, so that works for me.
Next, you’ll tell Wantful about the person you’re shopping for by clicking the Get Started button. Answer the questions about the person you’re shopping for by clicking the options that best represent them, or by using the slider to set their interest in an activity (like cooking for example.) When you’ve gone through everything it will compile a collection of gifts from which to choose.
You pick 12. I tried out the $30 range and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of options. There are even charity gift options! After you’ve selected 12, you can personalize your giftbook and decide whether to send it as a printed version ($5) or to send it via e-mail. You pay up front so all they have to do is pick an item.
You curate a collection and the recipient picks his or her favorite thing. Sounds like a great idea to me. I don’t have to worry about whether I got the right thing or if they’ll like it.
Overall, I think this is a cool new way to shop for gifts.
