What is a Network?

Q:
What is a Network and why do I have a whole Neighborhood of them on my Desktop?

A:
A network is simply a group of computers that are hooked together. A network can be as small as having two computers hooked up and sharing information to something as vast and complex as the Internet.

The Network Neighborhood icon on your Windows desktop lets you browse through the computers that are in your current network. If you aren’t part of a network, this little guy doesn’t do much for you.

If you are in a network, you can use it the same way you would the My Computer icon. The only difference is that when you open it up, you can browse thorough the files of the other computers on your network.
