Have you ever finished a book and had trouble deciding what to read next? I know I have! This site gives you a recommendation on what you should read next, based on the title or author of a book you already like.
You can input either the title or author of a book, or you can even search by ISBN number to find the exact book on which you want to base your search. If you search by title or author, you’ll be asked to select which version of the book you’ve read.
For example: I typed in Jane Eyre, one of my all time favorites, and I was given a list of different versions of the book. Then I picked the version I had (the Broadview Literary Text version) and it generated a list of possible books I could read.
All the books on your recommendation list have a link to Amazon.com (just click the book icon under info/buy), so that you can read an excerpt of the book, read user reviews, and buy it. I wouldn’t personally buy it – I’d probably get it out of the library – but I definitely would check out the excerpts and user reviews!
If you scroll to the bottom of the recommendation list, you can register with the site by typing in your e-mail address and clicking the register button. They’ll send you a confirmation letter but you don’t have to do anything with it. Just click the link the Manage your New Book List Here link. This will allow you to save a listing of your favorite books. As well as split the books you’ve read into separate lists based on whether you liked them or not.
I know I’m going to be making a lot of use of this site, once the semester ends! It will be nice to be able to keep track of what I’m reading for pleasure, and discover new authors at the same time! Check it out today!
