What Will Happen To My Music In Windows 10?

Monday, September 14th, 2015 by | Filed Under: Quick Tips, Uncategorized, Windows 10

A lot of you have concerns about your music files in Windows 10. Like this reader, who wrote: “What’s gonna happen to all my music I now have on Windows media player? I use the player for listening, making cd’s , storing my amazon music purchases. Can I still do this?”

Nothing should happen to your music in Windows 10. Windows Media player is not going away. Although many folks have been confused because Windows Media Center is no longer around. Your music files should not be affected and you can still listen to your music in Windows Media Center.

While you may make playlists to organize your music there, it’s actually still stored in your music folder. You’re just accessing it and organizing it through Media Center. You’ll also have the option of using the Groove Music App that comes with Windows 10.

Hi Cynthia, how are you, thank you for all the great tips – could you tell us all please what do we do, when we try to play a DVD in our computer or lappie – Windows Media Player won’t play any DVD or when we have used the camcorder, and videoed our ‘Precious Moments’, it won’t play through Windows Media Player also, in Windows 10. Have you any suggestions please….
    Thank you so much again,
    Kind Regards,

I have upgraded 2 systems to windows 10 with no problems with the upgrade.
But there was a difference in the final result.
The first computer was an HP laptop with Windows 7. When I looked at the programs that were set up on the laptop I found that Microsoft Works was installed. It is a very nice program with lots of new features.

Later I upgraded a Dell Tower. The upgrade went without any problems.
When I looked at the list of applications that were installed, there was no Micro Works.

    What Happened?

I will look for your answer.
