The “Hibernate” choice has disappeared from my START menu. I used to have it, but it’s gone. How do I restore it?
The Hibernate option would normally be found as one of the options when you click the drop-down menu next to Shutdown in your Start menu.
This isn’t the first time I’m heard of it disappearing. Let’s see if we can’t get it back.
Search for cmd in the search box in the start menu. cmd should turn up as a result.
Right click on cmd in the results and choose Run as Administrator. You’ll be asked if you want to make changes to the computer. Choose yes.
When the command prompt opens, type the following: powercfg /hibernate on
Press enter. Now when you go to the shut down menu, you should see the option to hibernate.
Let us know if this works.
