Which is the greater data connection speed – 1/.5 Mbps or 29 Mbps?

Mbps stands for Megabits per second. The slash in 1/.5 Mbps stands in for the division symbol. 1 divided by .5 equals 2 Mbps. Of course, for 29Mbps (Megabits per second) is faster than 1/.5 Mbps.

For voice calls you’ll want at least a .1 Mbps connection. For HD video calls over service like Skype, you’ll need at least 1.5 Mbps. To stream movies at top quality, you’ll want at least 5.0 Mbps.
