Why does the screen change on me when I am typing an email in Windows 8.1? Suddenly the symbols (that I’m suppose to get by swiping from the upper right) will show up and then I have to click on my cursor to be able to type again. I know I must be hitting something but what? I’m a good typist and don’t think I am hitting a wrong key. This is very frustrating as I won’t know that everything has stopped unless I am looking at the screen.
The keyboard combination of the Windows key + C will being up the charms bar, so it’s possible, you’re accidentally tapping the Windows key and then the C to bring out the Charms bar. If you have a touch pad on a laptop, it’s also possible your hand could be resting in a position that activates the cursor and makes it think you are trying to hover near the top or bottom right corners. Pointing either place activates the Charms bar.
If the touch pad is the culprit, check out his article.
