Why Don’t You Talk About AOL?

You mention many browsers in various articles, but I never see AOL mentioned.  Is there a reason for this.  I and many people I know use AOL. Thank you.  Love your informative articles.

Part of it is a numbers game Natalie. The AOL browser is used by less than 1% of people accessing the Internet, closer to .5%. So, we actually don’t get a whole lot of questions about AOL. But please ask them if you have them and we’ll do our best to come up with an answer.

This is in reply to your reply to me. It is not specific info that I am looking for. It’s when you explain things for different browsers, AOL is never mentioned. Do I follow the tips for IE? or Firefox? Will this work for AOL also?

It’s unlikely, Natalie. AOL is very different from IE, Firefox & Chrome, which are stand-alone browsers and function similarly in many ways with their settings. The AOL setup is designed for you to navigate their services. While hitting “settings” for IE, Firefox or Chrome brings up settings for just the browser, doing it in AOL offers you a whole other range of account settings for AOL. AOL wants to take over as your desktop more than your browser. It works in a completely different way than those browsers because it’s more than just a browser and can’t really be adjusted in the same way because it’s not the same type of program.
