The Windows 8.1 store will not open. It says “cannot open, try again later.” Can you help me fix the Windows store?
There are a couple of possibilities, let’s start with the simplest ones. Make sure you have installed all of your Windows updates from Microsoft.
If that doesn’t help try typing wsreset at your Metro Start Screen. You don’t need to open anything, just type it. It will show up in the search charm. Click on it to run. That will reset the store.
If you still cannot access the store, and are having trouble with other apps, it’s possible that your user profile may be corrupt. I suggest creating another profile for your computer. Just type “create an account” in the search charm and click on the result.
Then create your new profile.
Then try logging on with that account to see if you can access the store from there.
This could also be caused by incompatibility with your anti-virus. Some people have reported this issue with Avast. You may need to uninstall AVAST, then also uninstall the apps that aren’t working. Restart Windows, then re-install those apps and then re-install the latest version of Avast.
You can also run the Apps Troubleshooter from Microsoft. It may be able to diagnose the problem. I hope one of these solutions helps.
