Word’s Readability Statistics
OK, so we’re all here for the same purpose, that is, to get Word to give us the scoop on a document’s stats.
The first step is to turn on the Readability Statistics feature.
Accomplishing this task is really quite easy. Go to the Tools menu, Options choice.
In the Options window you’re looking for the Spelling & Grammar tab.

At the bottom, you’re looking in the Grammar section for the “Show readability statistics” option.
Make sure the checkbox is selected and click OK.
Now all you have to do is to run a spell check (Tools menu, Spelling and Grammar choice—or—the F7 key—or—use the Spelling and Grammar button on the Standard toolbar.)
When the check is complete you’ll get a window something like this.

You’ll notice it gives you an entire rundown of the document.
When you’ve got the information you need click OK to close the window.
All you could ever need to know about your Word documents is as easy as running a good old-fashioned spell check!
