In beta currently and limited to jobs in Los Angeles, California for the moment, Workpop is a job that seeks to connect workers to employers for free. The idea is to give hourly workers a different way to connect with employers other than a paper resume.
I ran across Workpop via this article; I was intrigued so I decided to check out the site itself. When you arrive at the site, I suggest starting by scrolling down to the How it Works section, and using the arrows on the right and left of the page to look at all the slides for the section. After checking that out, you can scroll down the page further to learn more about the company in the Team section.
Ready to dive in? Job seekers can provide pertinent details to employers like their scheduling availability, employment history, education, and can even upload videos of themselves. All they have to do is sign up for the site.
Registration for the site is easy, just click the Sign Up button and choose from logging in with Facebook, LinkedIn, or Email. I chose LinkedIn because it made the most sense as a job seeker to use a work profile. Once you’re signed in you can immediately browse job listings and see at a glance what the position is and what the hourly rate is. Interested in a job? Just click the Apply button, and then fill out the different sections of the application. It’s just that simple.
This looks like a great way to apply for jobs in the Los Angeles area, and I hope the company takes off and can provide this service in other locations in the future!
