The World History Traveler is an interactive way to explore world history through thematic pathways or bridges that allow the explorer to discover interesting intersections throughout history.
Before you get started, I suggest you check out this helpful tutorial on how to use the Traveler. You can find it here or you can click Help from any of the pages it is listed on.
To get started click Launch the Traveler Interactive link. This will launch the traveler in a new window. There you’ll select whether you want to browse via a thematic pathway or a bridge. After you’ve selected one, you’ll then pick the area you want to explore from a text box. That will whisk you away into the topic you’ve selected and offer you options of places to navigate to from there. Allowing you to decide the overall path of your journey and what you’ll discover along the way.
At the bottom of the Traveler you’ll find the menu options: Home, Thematic Pathway, Bridges, Collection, and Help. Home will direct you back to the opening screen where you made your first choice between a Thematic Pathway and Bridges. Thematic Pathway and Bridges let you head directly to their main listing.
I’m going to warn you right now that you might get hooked on this site. Not only does it eat up hours of my time as I learn about new things and make new connections, I keep going back for more! I adore the way it makes connections that you wouldn’t normally think of.
