All of us staff members here at WorldStart get e-mails and phone calls every day from people having trouble with one of the features on our Web site. It’s either the software store or the newsletters or even the wallpaper. So, I thought I would just go over with you all today a little about our site. Hopefully by the end, you won’t have any more questions about the way things are run on the site and you’ll be able to navigate around much easier!
This is our homepage. You can do many things right here. You can sign up for the newsletters, check out the categories we sell under, look at our computer tips subjects, get the free wallpaper, personalize your own cool sites and we even have the different search engine links you can use along with our Web site.
From here, I’m going to go over how you can get our wallpaper. Everything else is pretty self explanatory. If you would like to get the wallpaper, click anywhere by the Free Wallpaper link. You can click on the pictures or just anywhere in that general area. Once you click there, you will see a forward link, so just click on that as well. Next, you will see all of our wallpaper options. We have so many different pictures to choose from. They usually go along with the months and the seasons so you can always keep your wallpaper updated. You can also get the wallpaper with or without a date calendar.
So, go ahead and choose which one you’d like to use and click on it. You will then be asked to pick your screen resolution size. We usually determine what your screen size is, but if we’re wrong, choose another one. Just click on the link for your right size. The next screen is what we call “Newsletters For Free.” They are just other newsletters you can sign up for. You can look through the list and if you find one you want, go ahead and sign up for it. If not, scroll to the bottom and click on the “No Thanks. Just Wallpaper Today” link. Then your image will download. Wait for it to complete and then right click on it and choose Set As Background. It will then automatically be added to your desktop as your new wallpaper.
Next is our software store. This is where all the buying takes place. In the middle of the page, you will see all of our featured products. They are usually the newest ones we have and some of the coolest. On the left hand side of the page, you can browse through the different categories we sell under. We have everything from business titles to music to kids programs. If you scroll down, you will see the Bargain Bin and our Bestsellers section. Now, on the right hand side of the page is where you can sign up to be a part of our store or if you already are, you can login here. If you’d like to register, just click on the Register link. If you’re already a member, just enter your username (not your e-mail address) and your password. If you have forgotten either of those, click on the Recover Password link to retrieve them.
Keep in mind that you don’t have to register to be able to order from our site. You can just click on an item, add it to your cart, fill out your information and you’re all set. If you are registered, you can bypass all the forms. So, after that, just find an item you’d like to purchase and click on its link. Once there, click on Add to cart. If you have a coupon code, this is where you put it in. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and just type it in and hit Submit. If you want more items, click on Continue Shopping or if you’re done, click on Checkout. Next is where you fill out all your information and select the payment type you want to use. When you’re completely finished, click Submit at the bottom and you’re all done. You will be sent an e-mail confirmation to the e-mail address you give us and you can then just wait for the item to be shipped. You will also receive another e-mail when your order leaves our building.
This section is where you can find all of the computer tips we’ve ever published. You can look through the categories we have, check out the Recently Added tips or the Most Popular Tips. On the right hand side of the page, you can sign up for the newsletters if you haven’t already done so. We also have a Tip Search box. Just type in a few key words and every tip that contains those words will show up for you. It’s a great way to keep track of the information you need.
This is our main newsletters page. You can also sign up for the newsletters here, along with the Newsletter Reader if you’d like. All the links can be found on the right hand side of the page. In the middle, you will find the links to all the different newsletters we provide. We have Computer Tips, Just For Grins, Life’s Adventures and Software Deals. The Computer Tips and Just For Grins come out every day. We do have a weekly Computer Tips newsletter that comes out on Fridays that you can sign up for as well. Life’s Adventures comes out every Tuesday and Thursday while Software Deals is only sent out on Saturdays. Click on any link to see that day’s newsletter. Each one also has an archive section at the top of the page. There’s a pull down menu that takes you all the way back to August 2005’s newsletters. (That’s a whole year!) So, if you think you missed something, take a look through there and find what you need.
Another feature we offer is our message board. Go to the main page to read through our rules and regulations. If you haven’t already registered, just click on the big blue Register link to get started. The registration just asks for a username and password and you can fill out any other information if you want. Once you’re done with that, click on the “I Agree To These Rules and Regulations” link at the bottom of the page to enter the message board. Once in there, just pick a category that you’d like to submit a question under. We have PC Ask and Answer, Digital Imaging, etc. There’s something for everyone here. Choose your area and click on its link. Next, click on the New Thread button at the top of the page. This will then direct you to the area where you can write and submit your own computer questions. Then you just wait for the other message board users to get back with you. They are all pretty good with helping everyone out, so it’s a nice way to gain knowledge and even meet other users.
This is our contact page. You can find our address, our telephone number, our hours, etc. here. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. If you call after that time, you will receive a voicemail and we will get your message the following morning. There are also other links on this page you can check out. There’s general inquiries, our order returns policy, technical support help and newsletter support. It’s all there written out for you in an easy to follow format. If you ever have a question about anything, refer to this page first for beginning help. Then if you need additional help, give us a call.
